Will they be successful in implementing their innovation, staking their hard earned money, stable jobs, relationships, and life 'S.O.A.R is the story of chasing a dream, quandary between desire and responsibility, friendship and love. Join the gutsy journey of three young entrepreneurs.

In my view:

I had read this somewhere that most of the successful things are unplanned and tiring things are those which give us most pleasure in life. Starting a venture or a new organization is easier said than done. However, staying committed to the goals visualized and standing strong during the time of odds, helps one to move far ahead in life. S.O.A.R – Success Over Adversity Reigns, authored by Abir Mukherjee gets a story which has a similar message for our readers.

S.O.A.R revolves around three soles, totally frustrated of their job and wanting to do something different and innovative. So, the next thing these three do is leaving their current job abruptly and commencing with a new venture, without a proper planning. It is not that they aren’t aware of the difficulties they would accost, but it is just that they are too ignited to do what they love. Standing strong against the odds, these three manage to take the company ahead somehow, but a major hindrance hits them, putting them all in a jeopardy.

Now, what strategy would they apply for getting themselves out of the mess? Will they be able to survive in the crazy market competition? Will they be able to manage their lives, jobs, relationships and of course, challenges, all at a time? Well, this is something readers need to look out for in the book.
S.O.A.R is indeed a story of chasing a dream while managing loads of things which are destined to cross the path.

Both, the story as well as the narration, are equally beguiling. The use of simple and comprehensive language makes it suitable for beginners and those who are not well-versed with English language. Though the story is on a concept many have written about previously, it is cast in a unique and interesting manner. The twists and turns of the protagonists’ lives, the hitches they come across while climbing the ladder of success are very well narrated by the author.

The major drawback of S.O.A.R is its cover. It is sort of dull and just not appealing. Besides the color combination on the cover is too depressing. The author really needs to contemplate on the cover of his book. Secondly, the story, at a few places gets off track and becomes monotonous for a while. Its simple language won’t attract readers who prefer reading books possessing elevated vocabulary.

However, the story and the message it gives are the things that would really capture one’s mind and soul.
Considering everything, the book gets 3/5 from me. Congratulations and best wishes to author Abir Mukherjee.
NOTE: A review copy of the book was sent by the author.
