Story-in-Short:

It is best when some secrets remain hidden and sone stories remain untold. But is destiny too kind to let this be?

A strange Y-shaped sybol in the sky terrifies a mysterious, alien race living secretly on earth for centuries, and changes forever the fate of five human beings; a Brazilian Street Fighter, an American cop, a Chinese karate instructor, a Russian Enviromentalist and an Indian ad maker. Meanwhile, a geek in NYC is amazed to see his dream grow more and more bizarre each day and meets an angel who isn’t conventional in anyway. This is the story of how their destinies interwine.

They could have had heaven but they did not take it.

The demons were against them and so were the angels but that did not scare them.

Destiny had already ruled against them but they choose to rebel.

Embers of Light is the story of five ordinary humans who choose the path of light over and above everything else ... even God.

In my View:

I am glad to receive Abhishek Gupta’s Embers of Light and the Sacred Secret -  the first one among the other two. The book has a very unique, refreshing and an entertaining story for its readers. Abhishek is a debutant author and a fabulous story like this one, from a debutant, is hardly expected.

The cover of the book could have been interesting, like the story in the book is. While dealing with it the designer could have been more professional. Talking about the story, it’s an exciting one. As you pursue ahead and as the story starts developing the thoughts, that arise earlier, fade away.

The first chapter is a bit confusing with lots of names going simultaneously. But if you go ahead with patience then you are sure to accost a first-class and a fascinating fantasy literature.  The five characters meet at a location where Johan introduces himself to them. They later come to know about Vaashi’s and Satatma Johan shows them parts of an ancient and interesting story through consumption of liquid. By consuming this liquid they enter into a majestic world of a king, queen and their two children. These five meticulously observe the behaviour and ability of these two royal children. I won’t reveal more than this as the further and the attention-grabbing parts of the story needs to be explored by you!

The writing style is comprehensible. The ending of each story pulls you towards the beginning of the next story. And each chapter multiplies your interest in the book. The best part of the book is the drawings which help the reader imbibe and imagine the characters. It’s the first fantasy tale which has fantasized me to its fullest.

It’s a wonderful book to read. This book can also turn into a movie, provided a film director pays an attention to it. It's a must-read and I would like to urge my readers to enter into the world of Embers of Light and the Sacred Secret (Part 1) by purchasing this amazing book.

And yes, Abhishek, I did enjoy reading this book as much as you enjoyed writing it! Thus rating it with 4.5/5! Looking forward to review Part-2 of the trilogy.
