Story-in-Short:

Riya was in a dilemma. Should she help her hostel-friend Kamini, who was involved in a sex-and-drug racket and was depending on her to get her out of the mess? Riya had always dreamt big of becoming a politician someday – so this was her chance to really help out innocent girl-victim and bust a racket…
Or should she just concentrate on her studies and enjoy the attentions of her handsome boyfriend Vivaan with whom she soon planned to tie the knot?

More important, could she help Kamini without getting into really dangerous waters herself and risking her own life and the lives of all those whom she loved?

‘Some loves…” unravels the rare path taken by a gusty, urban collegian and the repercussions it has on her life.

In my view:

Sometimes life has something really weird in store of us. Although, at times, present seems to be glorious and salutary but the future isn’t.

Similar is the story of Riya, a simple girl from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. After completing her graduation, from a little known town she arrives into Delhi for her further studies. Here, she lives with her friend Kamini. One night Riya comes to know that Kamini is trapped into a racket from where she is finding it difficult to free herself. Riya plans to help her out. Meanwhile, she falls into love with her college senior Vivaan. One fine day, she alongwith Kamini and a journalist friend of hers, bursts this whole racket. But this brave and sincere act of her, turns out to be expensive for her future. This exposure leads to her enmity with a man called Hemant who is the villain of this story.

One fine day when Anjali, Vikal along with their friends go to India Gate, they find a girl there, demanding Justice for her. Yes, she is Riya but what happened to her? Which situations forced her to land up at India Gate demanding justice? Grab your copies to find more about what toll does a humble act of Riya takes on her life.

The story is an emotional tale of a woman who saves lives of several girls but in return life does something really unfortunate with her.

Overall: The story is well-written and blend with emotions. The narration of the book is appealing and it holds a reader’s attention till the end. The cover page of the book and its title are attractive enough to catch a reader’s attention.

Speaking about the drawbacks of the book, there are no open and close quotes in the dialogues which should have been there. Also, there are grammatical errors in the book which could have been avoided. Authors should not have used slang words for ‘girl’, ‘you’, ‘are’ and ‘love’. Also, titles of certain chapters could have been catchy. I am very sure the authors will ponder on these things during all their future works. Otherwise, the book will surely give an enjoyable time to readers.

Considering everything, I would rate the book with 4/5. I would like to congratulate both the debut authors Anjali Vaswani and Vikal Bansal for coming up with such an attractive story that occupies a place in a reader’s heart. Hope to read more such stories from the authors!

Note: A reviewer’s copy of The Lost Paradise was sent by the authors. I would like to thank them for the book!
