I AM DEAD BUT MY HEART BEATS is a fascinating saga of love,
education, community, hatred, sacrifices and hopw. It’s about four youngsters
from different communities speaking different languages – Aryan, Anshika Zahid
and Swati. Get ready for a heart-breaking journey of a complete real life
story.
In My View:
Just Imagine that you are travelling in a train and a hot
passenger comes and claims her seat, in the berth opposite to yours. How would
you feel? Won’t you be excited to talk to her and develop a friendship with her? Well, here author Priyank gets a
similar story. He gets an emotional story that interestingly begins during a train journey
but ends up tragically.
This story is a heart-rendering story of Aryan and Anshika,
both engineering students who meet during a train journey and fall in love at the first sight itself. Although none of them confess it yet they develop feelings
for each other. Finally, confessions come up one fine day and this marks the
beginning of their relationship.
There is another story that comes-up later and runs
simultaneously with the story of Aryan and Anshika. This story is of Zahid and
Swati who go against their family’s opposition and have an inter-caste
marriage. This too is a touching story, portraying the struggles of
both the lovers.
Aryan and Anshika, on another hand, get into a relationship. They begin
spending their time together, cajole and cuddle each other and sketch plans for their
future. But will this saga of true love exist further? What does destiny have
in store for both these lovers? Grab your copies now and explore this love
story in depth.
Over-all: The
cover page of the book is eye-catching and so is its title 'I am Dead but My Heart Beats'. Both of them are
enough to attract a reader’s attention. The narration style of the author is
fine. The plots in the book too are good. The author has done a good job
by appropriately inscribing poetic lines in between the story. The later part
of the story where-in Zahid and Swati go to Muzzafarnagar, to save Zahid’s
parents, despite the communal violence, is really well-written. The story is appealing and makes a reader smile, cry and worry with
the flow of the story. And this, I feel, is the best part of the book.
Speaking about of the
drawbacks, the novel has a few grammatical errors. Also, at places the
story falls week. In the second chapter, the author has written about the left
over article in India Today magazine which is unnecessary and should have been omitted.
I am very sure that the author will keep these things in mind during all his
future projects.
Apart from these mistakes, the story is good. It is different from all
the casual love stories, something that the readers-at-large would enjoy
reading.
Considering everything, I would rate the book with 4.25/5. Good lucks to the author and
hope he comes up with many more interesting stories!
Note: A reviewers copy of the book was provided by the author himself.

A good review (Y) I am very happy that you've mentioned the drawbacks too, which most of the readers fail to do. :)
Thank you Kalai :)
