Story-in-Short:
An atheist city-clicker unleashed on a medieval holy
village…
A simpleton village priests boy who blindly worships and
guards a pantheon of Gods and Their traditions…
Strange things happen when their worlds collide!
This is a tale of that turmoil on a lonely night in a
jungle, when the ghosts you vener knew till a few hours ago are let loose on
the ghosts that you always carried within, unknowingly.
Welcome to the unholy clash of beleifs, fear and frailities
with unkown Gods and demons. A clash that will test your convictions. A clash
that will rabidly claw and unmask your subconscious, leaving you naked and
paralyzed in front of your demonds – in a climax that is as ambiguous as it is
certain…
Welcome to the madness of ‘Lucifer’s Lungi’.. where
What-You-See-Is-NOT-What-You-Get…
In my view:
Do you believe in ghosts? Do you imagine about them? Do you
wish to try something adventurous? If yes, then here’s a book out for you by
debutant author Nitin Sawant.
The protagonist of the story visits South India. It is
during this visit that he meets Sarvanna and a little boy of a chef. Sarvanna
tells him about the village and those beliefs in which villagers hold a strong
faith. The superstitious believes of the villagers take him aback. Belonging
from the modern world and having a scientific insight, he denies agreeing what
Sarvanna tells him.
He tries to remove all those wrong delusions by debating on
it but fails. One fine night, he
experiences something unusual and horrifying. What does he experience? What
about Lucifer? Who is Lucifer? Is he troubled by some ghosts or is it something
else? Questions will tend to turn up but in search for their answers, one must
read the book!
The story that this novel gets is really unique and interesting.
To explore this tale in detail readers must simply grab their copies and take
pleasures of reading it!
Over-all: The
cover of the book is interesting. The temple, the lungi, trees and the dusk on
the cover of the book faintly tell a reader about its genre. The title too is
interesting and catchy. The narration of the story is commendable. The best
part of the novel is it involves a reader in such a way that a single day is
enough for a reader to finish up the book.
Speaking about the
drawbacks, there are a very few
grammatical errors in the book which could have been avoided. Also, some words
in a South Indian language will remain absurd to a non-South Indian reader. The
beginning of the book is a bit blur. But as the story develops, things become
clear and comprehensible and then a reader doesn’t feels like putting the book
down.
All in all, Lucifer’s Lungi is a fascinating tale and I
would rate it with 3.5/5. Congratulations to Nitin Sawant for coming-up with
this book. My best wishes to the author as well as publisher Nethra ma’am!
NOTE: A reviewers copy of the book was provided by the Publication House Fablery India.
- The book will be available shortly in the bookstores.
