Story-in-Short:
In my view:
Beauty and glam can literally make one turn blind. But what
when reality dawns up and a lot has already happened? It is every girl’s dream
to marry a charming, well-to-do boy and have a good married life. But, what
when a girl gets so blind over the charm that she ignores, or chooses to ignore
the reality? Won’t a woman be in despair and shock when she learns that her
marriage with a well-to-do, reputed and handsome man was nothing but a
financial transaction?
Nights in the Pink Satin is set in Mumbai and revolves
around Simran Dandekar and Siddharth Raichand, children of the rich, yet
controversial parents, belonging to the elite society. Simran, the daughter of
a Nagpur-based construction magnet and Siddharth Raichand, the heir of the
Raichand family, meet up at the insistence of their family members. While the
Raichands suffer a massive blow in their family business, Siddharth’s
grandmother opines him to marry Simran, in return of which Simran’s father
would help the Raichand family, financially, in the loss-occurring business.
Both Simran and Siddharth have seen winters in their
previous love life, however, Simran, forgetting about her former to-be-husband
moves ahead, while Siddharth finds it difficult to revive from the heart-break.
But, when the two meet, they like each other, especially Simran, who finds it
difficult to take her glance off Siddharth. They get married and on the first
night of their marriage, Simran learns about her husband’s past love life.
Things do take time to settle between the two, but they do
get along very well, and Simran easily manages her two lovers – her upcoming
book and her husband. But when and why do things start getting bitter between
the two? And who will have to sacrifice in which way? Well, to find more about
this fascinating story, you’ll have to read the book!
The book has got an extremely attractive cover and a catchy
title. I am sure they are enough to drag readers’ eyeballs towards the book.
The story is set in Mumbai and proceeds at a fast pace. The author has dealt
with the characters perfectly, which prevent any sort of a confusion from
arising as the story develops further.
The narration and the narrative are just too addictive – so
much, that I finished reading the book in just a single setting. What pulls one
into it is the filmy touch that the story has, which makes a reader feel as if
everything is happening right in front of him and he is witnessing it all. The
story is written in such an amazing way that it creates a bond between a reader
and the characters, which immerses a reader completely into the story.
Nights in the Pink Satin enters into the category of books
one cannot afford to miss! All the passionate readers out there, looking
forward to reading something really unique and gripping, must definitely read
this book!
Considering everything, I am rating the book with 4.5/5.
Congrats to the author for her second book and my best wishes for its success!
