Story-in-Short:
It has been twenty years in the industry and now having seen his
rise, fall and re-rise, he plans to retire. Some chemistry he had with girls.
His circle mostly had female tangents. It was indeed a psychological pleasure
for him. Not everybody is good at this unique feature. He pampered and charmed
all those women with whom he has never in a relationship with, till one day he
realized that his life has 3 girlfriends already. His wife, his daughter, and
his that female friend-the S.HE., who taught him to humble and dedicated to his
family. Finally, he got committed to all 3 of them.”“Anyhow, 80% of the people can’t understand 90% of what I say. Who am I? What am I?”
“I just have one love. I am Eklavya.”
In my view:
There are books which successfully build up suspense, right
from the beginning and beguile readers completely. Until now, you must have
read self-help books on management and related studies by this author. But this
time, he has shifted towards writing fiction.
‘She is my…’, is an amazing work of fiction with utmost
suspense in the beginning. The story begins with the protagonist desperate to
meet the editor of an English daily. But, who is the protagonist? Well, the
story is developed in a manner which doesn’t let the protagonist's identity
exposed in the initial phase of the book. The story goes on and on, with the
conversation between the protagonist and the editor, wherein the protagonist
seeks help for a perplexing, yet fascinating thing.
As one reads the story, it feels the protagonist is a psychologically
ill person, suffering from split personality disorder. At least, this is what
is evident from the conversation, however, twists and turns in the story establish
and make the scenes explicit. And this, by and large, is an exciting specialty
of the book. The relation of Krishna and Eklavya is special and worth reading
is the help and role the former plays in the latter’s life.
Also, worth knowing is the ‘SHE’ condition that is being
talked about in this book, which is kept clandestine for a longer time, before
revealing.
The cover page of the book is not so interesting. But, a
book should never be judged by its cover, and a book like this, certainly not.
The narrative is extremely intriguing, as is the narration. The characters have
been built properly. The story proceeds comprehensibly, at a comfortable pace.
I have read and reviewed books written by Mohit Jain, and have
always been fond of his writing style. However, those were self-help and
this is a fiction novel, and I was curious to know how he must have authored
it. And after reading this book, I didn’t feel as if he has written fiction for the
first time. That aura, gentle and rejuvenating effect is just captivating.
Yes, there are a few grammatical errors in the book, which
could have been avoided. But, nothing much to worry, as these few errors don’t
really irk one in the process of reading it.
I am recommending this book to all those who are looking
forward to read something interesting, and importantly, unique.
I am rating this book with 4.25/5. Congrats to the author
and I am looking forward to read more from him!
