I WAS NOT BORN, I came as a Blessing, and you tried to murder me before even letting me see this amazing world. I grew up to Dream, Aspire and Achieve, and you Raped them with my body and soul. I became your wife to Support and Beautify your lives and you Burnt me alive for not filling your room till roof with money. I gave you life, praying for your happiness and success but got tears of helplessness and aloofness in return… Yes, I was a woman who was born to be Loved, yet got Ditched, Sacrificed and Isolated to Simle, Move On and Forgive, Let’s celebrate the unknown phases of my voyage through a unique amalgamation of 16 stories and poems, dedicated to every “HER” for being a “WOMAN”.

In my View:

The cover page of the book is fabulous and it gives an idea about what the books exactly is. The cover picture suits the book and has been designed in attractively. Moving towards the story now,

On Women’s ‘Day’! – Titiksha Singhal I Rating: (4/5).

Titiksha’s poem welcomes readers to this book. In her poem – Titiksha has mentioned the condition of a woman in a male-dominated, patriarchal society. She has also mentioned the social stigma that a woman goes through. It’s a very well written poem that would catch mind and soul of any reader. 

She – RaviRaj Ramavarapu I Rating: (4/5).

This story is of a girl Astha who falls of prey to the inhuman activities of horrendous men. The author was once travelling to Darjeeling and a girl comes and sits beside him in the train. She urges him to pen down a story of a young girl. The girl narrates the story of Astha who unfortunately dies after going through the barbarism. Do you want to know what happened to Astha? Do you know who the girl narrating the incident was? Purchase the book and read the whole story. The story is an interesting one. It moves casually but leaves a reader’s eyes wide open in the end. 

My Affair with the Hooker – Mahua Ray I Rating: (3.5/5).

This story is of a girl Chhamiya whose father dies at a young age. She turns a whore to earn money and support her family after their conditions turn bad. This story shows that how a woman strives hard to support her family, how society shreds her away, how people taunt and comment at her and despite of this all, she faces it boldly. It’s a very heart touching story tough at few places it becomes a bit boring. It’s a story which has a bit suspicion in the beginning but its end is super-duper.  

With Love… Your Mom – Riitik Babbar I Rating: (4.5/5).

While in the previous story we had a daughters struggle to support her family, this story contains sacrifices and feelings of a mother. It is a letter written by a mother to her son. She, like every mother nurtures her son with utmost care and love. When her husband dies, she plays the role of a mother and a father too. She strived hard to give her son every appropriate thing so that he can get settled in his life. But the son forgets his mother and her sacrifices and involved himself in his own world. This story is full of emotions – emotions of a woman… emotions of a lonely mother. The author has brilliantly worked on the story. Salute’s to you Riitik Babbar!   

Endeavour – Ayushi Sharma. I Rating: (3.5/5).

Endeavour is a story of a girl and her feelings about girls in Delhi. The story doesn’t stands strong for a long time. Although the words used are good, I would like to say that it could have been structured in a better way. 

The Unborn – Saket Swabhavik. I Rating: (4/5).

It’s a short and sweet poem with strong lines and messages. It’s about an unborn gilr child questioning about the doubts that rise in her mind. The central idea of the poem highlights that the girls should not be ashamed of themselves. It’s a very well-written poem which is sure to attract readers! 

My Mom Strongest – Dipti Pathare. I Rating: (4/5).

The story is of Mitali and Jai. Mitali loves Jai who is an electronic repairer. She one day confesses her feelings to him. After families opposition, Mitali and Jay elope with each other and set a happy and a successful life. One day Mitali writes a telegraph to her aunt with whom she had a good rapport. Her aunt tells her that Mitali’s mother misses her too and wants to meet both Mitali and Jai. Do they go to meet her? What happens next? Read and catch this interesting part yourself. 

Daughter’s Fate – Pranav Shree. I Rating: (4/5).

This is a story of Chandni who was born in a family who did not want a girl child. Ever since her birth, Chandni’s life accosts many obstacles still she moves ahead with great courage. Later during her further courses, she meets a boy Ankur and falls in love with him. Ankur too shows love for her. Their relation start up but one day Chandni gets a bigger shock. The story has been framed in a charmed manner which keeps a reader attached to it from the beginning till the end. The language in the story too is good! 

She is Wild – Dr. Sasiprabha. I Rating: (4/5).

It takes us to a tribal village. Here, a sweet girl Cheeru loses her mother at the time of her birth but her father takes care of this girl in a protective way. At the ge of 13 she is married off to a 20 year old boy. This marks the beginning of her happy life. Soon she gives birth to a baby boy and she involves herself in her happy life. But destiny has something else in store for her. This story too is a well-written one. The language used is easy and comprehensible. Apart from that the story is framed in a beautiful way. 

I can be a devil too – Vinod Pardi. I Rating: (3.75/5)

Three friends get murdered subsequently and Inspector Riya tries to investigate this case and calls the trio’s friend Yogiraj from the USA. But soon, Yogiraj finds himself in trouble. He was attacked once in his hotel room but somehow he saves himself. But in the second attempt, when he runs to save his life he comes across a shocking truth. Who was behind those murders? Who wanted to kill Yogiraj and why? Is this some sort of revenge? Questions are too many but no need to worry as the story has everything. In the story there are a few spelling errors which could have been avoided. Leaving those mistakes the story is damn thrilling and one must read it! 

Being Woman – Priyanka Chaudhury. I Rating: (3.5/5)

This story takes us to Haryana, India where a woman gives birth to twin daughters – Tara and Maina. Since, she gives birth to girls; she faces tremendous fury from her in-laws. Meanwhile, she meets Shambhavi who runs a school for children of poor villagers. Everything goes smooth unless one day her daughter Tara goes missing. The ending of the story could have been as strong as its beginning is. In a line ‘n’ has been used instead of ‘on’ which could have been avoided. Otherwise, the story is a good one.  

Shattered Dreams – Nilesh Gowardhan. I Rating: (4/5)

It is a story of Vanya who belongs to a rich family. Her father urges her to marry but she confesses to them that she loves a boy Rishikesh. And then the next day Vanya’s father asks her to call Rishikesh to meet him when she won’t be at home. Generally, Rishikesh used to call Vanya twice a day and his messages used to flood her phone but that day his phone was switched off and he hadn’t sent a single message. Why? What was wrong? Read the story and get to know. Over-all a brilliant story again, very well-written and it attracts a reader’s attention easily. 

Haunting… Paranoia… New Beginning – Shreyasi Phukon. I Rating: (4/5)

Shreyasi has bought us a story of a rape victim. She has described the victims emotions in a very touching manner. She has closely and specifically described them. While reading it one feels as if it is reportage of some real incident. Being a very well-crafted story, it is surely going to create a special bond with the readers in the course of reading it. Everything goes sequentially in the story which enhances it! 

Wounded Wings, Wailing Women – Devanshu. I Rating: (4/5).

The poem again describes the horror and demonic trait that the women face. The poem is composed in such a manner that it directly touches reader’s heart. The lines:

The Rose bloomed,

Blossomed to get torn and

Torn to get doomed.’

These three lines look casual but have a strong message hidden in it. A well-framed poem that will surely win your heart. 

What Should I do, I want to live! – Ragini Singh. I Rating: (3.5/5)

It introduces Rupal who faces injustice in life. Ragini, has framed this story in a simple fashion yet the story keeps ones attention firm on it. What I liked about the story was its beginning and the way it has been moved ahead. But then again in the end the story loses its strength and thus a reader’s attention too. 

An Indeed Creation – Shweta Kesari. I Rating: (4/5)

As I turned the page I came towards the last part of the book – this poem. It concludes the book by describing the journey of women. It highlights that a woman is the best creation of god. And indeed she is! Words used are very mild and interesting! 

And here this lovely anthology ends. Usually it takes me 2-3 days to read a book but this book was read by me within 24 hours of its delivery. This was possible because the book truly did not let me keep it aside. It has a cluster of interesting and thought provoking stories. Each and every story in the book catches a reader’s heart and soul. For sure, I am recommending it to all my dear readers and friends. Although the book had certain errors; at places the endings of the story fall of loose yet the book stands successful in catching a reader’s attention. This book has touched my heart and you will feel the same after reading it! 

And thus I am rating this book with 4.5/5!
